Welcome to the new academic year in Y2 at Forefield Community Infant & Nursery School. We are very much looking forward to sharing an exciting year with your children with many super activities and topics planned. We also look forward to working in partnership with parents and carers to ensure the very best possible for your child.
By way of introduction, our Y2 team consists of Mr Hall, Class 7 teacher and Year group leader, Mr Robinson, Class 8 teacher and Mrs Buckley Class 9 teacher and SENCO. Miss Dawes, Mrs Marsden and Mrs Kinnard work across the Year 2 Classes supporting learning and leading small intervention groups.

We look forward to meeting you informally at the forthcoming ‘Meet the Teacher’ sessions.
Please see this week’s Year Group Newsletter for more details.
Spring in Year 2
Well, it has been a really strange time in school for all of us! Before school was closed the children learnt so much about Judaism, the synagogue and Jewish artefacts. They really enjoyed working in the style of Vincent Van Gogh, mixing their own shades of brown and other colours and applying them in the style of good old Vincent! The story of ‘Broken- Rock, Paper, Scissors’ inspired our writing and we have been busy working on weighing, measuring and interpreting data in our maths lessons. We are missing everyone and our home learning packs help you to focus on and consolidate many of the things we have been learning in school. We hope that you are all safe and well at home and send you lots of love. Keep an eye on the website and app for more home learning tasks coming your way in the next few weeks. Hope to see you all soon!
