Reception Home Learning

Dear Parents/Carers,

With the Government announcing the partial closure of schools for most pupils, the Reception staff have been preparing some appropriate tasks and activities to help your child continue their learning at home. The activities are linked to the EYFS curriculum and are tasks that your child could complete at home during this period. We have given sufficient learning activities for over the next few weeks, but appreciate that circumstance will differ in each house hold and we respect your judgement as parents as to how much or little of the homework tasks your child can complete. However we would encourage children to try and keep up some daily learning activities especially reading. We will be allocating a large section of books on Bug Club to keep your child going. Should the closure continue for a significant periods beyond the next few weeks we will update tasks and sent these out via the school app/website.

We have also set up online learning challenges via the Twinkl go website – https://www.twinkl.co.uk/go/sign-in.   These will be specific to year groups and your child’s phonic phase (this will be on your child’s target sheet which will be send out next week). You will need to enter the codes below to access these lessons.

Maths Lesson – VC1358

Phase 3 Phonics – MZ5781

Minibeasts – JN6324

Phase 2 Phonics – MR4278

Phase 2 Phonics – FA1965

New Life – OI9231

Real Life Heroes – GU3189

Some of the tasks we have included can be completed in children’s homework books or on any paper. Other task and suggested activities will be practical including the Children’s University Easter Challenge. If you are able to complete any practical tasks you can send photographs to your class teacher via a class email address that we have set up for this purpose. (see below).

Thank you for your support over the last few weeks. Take care of your selves and your families and we will hopefully see you soon. Please send us lots of photographs so we can keep up to date with your learning at home and watch your little ones grown and learn.

Yours sincerely
