Art is a real strength at Forefield. Every class in school studies a different artist each term. The children learn about artists from across the World both past and present. These include Vincent Van Gogh, Gustav Klimt, Claude Monet, Anthony Gormley and many more.

Lessons focus on learning about the artists life and influences and investigating their work. This year we are focusing on producing much wore 3D and sculpture work. Children get the opportunity to reproduce the work of these artists in a variety of styles and media, whether that is paint, pen or clay! During each art session the children are encouraged to evaluate the artists, their own and their peers work.

Throughout the school high quality display celebrates the children’s work across the school. As you walk around you can see how the children’s learning journey in art progresses and exceeds expectations.

Later on this year the children will be taking part in a whole school ‘Images’ exhibition and will be part of the STEAM Big Draw National Project that highlights the links between art, creativity and science and technology

At Forefield we also have an extremely popular art and drawing club during.
